Mel Gibson

After being pulled over for speeding in July 1996, Gibson launched into a well-publicized, sexist, anti-Semitic diatribe. He was subsequently arrested on the same stop for drunk driving and this mug shot was snapped. Unlike most mug shots, the 50-year-old Hollywood actor definitely looks debonair.

DMX was arrested for the -- oh heck, Fuck! we lost count how many-ith time -- busted in Miami for trying to buy cocaine and marijuana.According to the Miami-Dade Police Department, DMX was busted as part of an undercover narcotics investigation. To much shit to list regarding this guy.

Anna Nicole Smith

Before she became infamous, Anna Nicole Smith, Playboy's 1993 Playmate of the Year and widow of billionaire oil-mogul J. Howard Marshall, was arrested for drunk driving in her home state of Texas. After the Houston PD booked her on the misdemeanor DUI charge, in 1989, Smith modeled for the mug shot below.

50 Cent

When he was 19, rapper 50 Cent pleaded guilty to selling controlled substances (heroin and crack cocaine). Later, in July 2005, he received two years of probation for three counts of assault and battery stemming from an incident a year prior when the singer jumped into the audience after being hit by a water bottle.

Bobby Brown

Atlanta, Georgia, authorities charged singer Bobby Brown with possession of marijuana, speeding, and driving without a license or proof of insurance on November 7, 2002. They then discovered an outstanding warrant from DeKalb County for an April 1996 DUI. After posting bond in Atlanta, the singer was transported to the DeKalb County Jail. On January 17, 2003, he pleaded guilty to the 1996 DUI and was sentenced to eight days in jail. In August 2003, he was arrested for alleged probation violations. In February 2004, a DeKalb County judge revoked his probation. In July 2004, he reported to the Fulton County Jail for a misdemeanor battery charge from December 2003 following a fight with wife Whitney Houston. In March 2006, Brown was arrested in Massachusetts for a 1992 warrant for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and an uninsured motor vehicle trailer. He posted the $40 bail and was released.

Mike Tyson

Scottsdale police arrested an inebriated Mike Tyson in December 2004 and charged him with misdemeanor criminal damage. According to the authorities, the ex-heavyweight champion left the Pussycat Lounge at 12:45 a.m. and jumped on the hood of a 1999 Toyota Solara. Tyson yelled at the car's driver while perched on his hands and knees, causing about $1500 in damage to the stranger's car.

Scottsdale police arrested former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson again in December 2006, this time charging him with drunk driving and possession of cocaine. Tyson, 40, was pulled over outside an Arizona nightclub when his BMW nearly struck a sheriff's cruiser. After failing the field sobriety tests, the police arrested the boxer for driving under the influence. Authorities also found two small bags of cocaine in Tyson's pocket and third bag in his car. He was booked into the Maricopa County Sheriff's lockup.

Robert Downey Jr.

The first mug shot below of Robert Downey Jr. was taken courtesy of the California Department of Corrections in August 1999 while he was serving a 3-year sentence, for drug possession while on parole. An appellate court later ordered him released, ruling that the sentence did not account for the time the actor had spent in court-ordered rehab. The second picture below was snapped after the actor was arrested in April 2001, for suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance, after police found him wandering in a Culver City alley. Charges were not filed.

Pee-Wee Herman

Kid-friendly Pee-wee Herman, real name Paul Reubens, was not kidding around when he turned himself in to Los Angeles authorities during the investigation of a child pornography ring in November 2002. Charges were later dropped as Herman pleaded guilty to a lesser misdemeanor obscenity charge. The 56-year-old actor had been arrested previously in Florida in July 1991 after being caught masturbating in an adult movie house. His sentence included fines, court costs, and the production of an anti-drug public service announcement.

O.J. Simpson

In July 1994, Los Angeles authorities charged O. J. Simpson with the murder of his wife, Nicole Simpson, and her friend Ron Goldman, who were viciously attacked and killed outside Nicole's home. The highly publicized criminal trial resulted in a not guilty verdict, although a subsequent civil trial found him liable for damages in the murders. Authorities never charged anyone else with the crime.

Five years earlier, Simpson was charged with domestic battery for beating his wife. He paid a fine and completed 200 hours of community service.

Nate Dogg

Arizona authorities charged rapper Nathaniel Hale (aka Nate Dogg) with gun possession and marijuana possession in April 2002. He pleaded guilty in May 2002 and received probation, community service, and mandatory drug counseling sessions.

Nick Nolte

On September 11, 2002, the California Highway Patrol arrested actor Nick Nolte on suspicion of driving under the influence. A CHP officer saw Nolte's Mercedes-Benz swerving across a Malibu highway, and upon pulling him over, the officer noted he was drooling and looked droopy-eyed. He was released on $25,000 bond.

Michael Jackson

Pop king Michael Jackson was arrested in November 2003 in Santa Barbara, California on charges related to child molestation. Jackson posted the $3 million dollar bail, was officially indicted in March 2004, and after a month long trial in 2005, was found not guilty of the ten counts of child molestation and endangerment charges. The Jackson trial was arguably the most widely-covered, widely-hyped trial in history.

Allen Iverson

In July 2002, facing gun and assault charges, NBA superstar Allen Iverson surrendered to Philadelphia authorities. All charges were subsequently dismissed.

Darryl Strawberry

In April 1999, Tampa, Florida, police charged former baseball All-Star Darryl Strawberry with possession of cocaine and soliciting a prostitute. Strawberry subsequently violated the terms of his probation several times, resulting in additional arrests.

Charles Barkley

Milwaukee police arrested former NBA star Charles Barkley in December 1991 for allegedly hitting a man in the face. Six months later, he was acquitted of the assault charge.

De'Angelo

R&B singer Michael Archer, better known as D'Angelo was charged with assault, disorderly conduct, and other misdemeanors in Virginia in November 2002 stemming from an incident in which the Grammy winner allegedly cut off a female motorist. According to official reports, the 28-year-old singer cursed and spit on the other motorist. The police subsequently served an arrest warrant on him and had to use pepper spray to subdue the agitated performer.

The Wall Of Shame

Aiken County, South Carolina, authorities charged the "Godfather of Soul" James Brown with domestic violence in January 2004 when the 70-year-old allegedly pushed his 33-year-old wife, Tommie Rea Brown, to the floor during an argument. Investigators reported that Tommie Rea suffered "scratches and bruises to her right arm and hip" during the bedroom brawl.
